myenergi Zappi installed

The Zappi is the charger we install more than any other on the Peninsula, and the reason is simple: for a house with solar, nothing squeezes more free kilometres out of the roof. Its Eco+ mode will charge from surplus solar alone and wait patiently for the sun.

$1,400–$1,800charger unit

Charger unit price range. Three-phase adds $300–$600. Supply and install quoted as one fixed number after we check your board.

What you get

Power

7kW single-phase or 22kW three-phase versions. The three-phase unit charges cars with 11kW or 22kW onboard chargers roughly twice as fast.

Three charging modes

Fast (full power, any source), Eco (solar plus a top-up from the grid) and Eco+ (solar surplus only — pauses when a cloud comes over, resumes when it passes).

Solar diversion

Clamp-based monitoring of your grid connection, so it works with any inverter brand and reacts within seconds to changing sunshine.

Built-in earth protection

Integrated PEN fault detection means no separate earth rod on most installs — a cleaner, cheaper job than chargers that need one.

Cable options

Tethered 6.5m Type 2 lead, or an untethered socket version if you’d rather use your own cable.

App & ecosystem

myenergi app for scheduling, boost timers and live solar view. Plays nicely with myenergi’s eddi hot-water diverter and harvi wireless sensor if you go further down the path.

Warranty

3-year manufacturer warranty in Australia.

Load management

Can cap total house draw so the charger never trips the main switch — useful on 63A supplies.

On the wall

Another Zappi we put in, lead coiled and ready. Real job, not a product render.

Who it suits

Solar households who want maximum self-consumption, and anyone likely to add a battery or hot-water diverter later. The default recommendation when someone says “we’ve got panels.”

1

We check the board first

Every EV install starts with your switchboard and supply. If it needs safety switches, a new main switch or more capacity, that goes in the same fixed quote — one number, one visit, no phase two.

2

Dedicated circuit, done properly

Its own protected circuit from the board, cable sized for the run and the load, mounted where you actually park. Concealed runs where the house deserves it.

3

Commissioned and certified

We connect it to your Wi-Fi and app, set the solar and scheduling up with you, test it on your car, and issue the Certificate of Electrical Safety before we leave.

Pricing: Zappi units typically run $1,400–$1,800 for the charger; three-phase versions add $300–$600. We quote supply and install together. See the full cost guide for what moves the number.

myenergi Zappi questions

Is the Zappi worth the extra over a basic charger?

If you have solar, usually yes: the Eco+ mode alone can move most of your charging onto free power, which pays back the price difference in a couple of years of driving.

Single-phase or three-phase Zappi?

Only go three-phase if your house has three-phase supply AND your car can take more than 7kW. Most cars charge at 7kW or 11kW onboard; we’ll check both before quoting.

Do I need an earth rod?

With the Zappi, almost never — the PEN fault protection is built in. That saves trenching and cost compared with some competitors.
