Who we are

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- What you give us: name, phone, email, suburb, property address and the job details you type into a quote form, or tell us by phone, SMS or email.
- Site usage: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and how you arrived, collected through cookies and similar technology.
- Job records: for work we carry out — site notes, photos, test results and the Certificate of Electrical Safety we're required to issue.
Why we collect it
- To quote, schedule and carry out electrical work.
- To invoice you and keep the records Australian tax and electrical safety law requires.
- To answer enquiries and follow up on quotes.
- To measure which ads and pages actually generate enquiries, so we're not wasting money on the ones that don't.
Cookies and advertising
This site uses Google Ads conversion tracking. It records that an enquiry came from an ad click — it does not tell us who you are. You can turn off personalised advertising in your Google Ad Settings, or block cookies in your browser. Blocking them won't stop the site working.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only where the work requires it:
- Service providers who run our systems — form handling, job management, accounting and email.
- Suppliers or licensed trades where a job needs them, limited to what they need to attend.
- Energy Safe Victoria and the electricity distributor, where a Certificate of Electrical Safety or supply work requires it.
- Anyone we're legally required to disclose to.
Some providers store data overseas. We only use providers who apply protections comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.
How long we keep it
Quote enquiries that don't proceed: roughly two years. Records for completed work: at least seven years, as tax and electrical safety obligations require.
Security
Access is limited to Mitch and Sam. Our systems are password-protected with two-factor authentication and this site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take it seriously.
Accessing or correcting your information
Email info@mathieelectrical.com.au to see what we hold, correct it, or ask us to delete it. We'll respond within 30 days. If we can't delete something because we're legally required to keep it, we'll tell you why.
Complaints
Email us first and we'll work it out. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
Changes
If we update this policy we'll change the date below. Last updated 15 August 2026.
