How much does EV charger installation cost in Langwarrin?
Standard single-phase installs start from $750 for the electrical work. The final price depends on your switchboard, the cable run and whether any board work is needed. Send a photo of your switchboard and where you park and we'll come back with a fixed quote, usually the same day.
Which EV charger should I get?
If you have solar, a Zappi or a charger matched to your inverter brand gets you the most value. Tesla drivers usually want the Wall Connector. Otherwise it comes down to budget and whether you want app control and load management. We install them all and recommend based on your car and setup, not on what we stock.
Do I need a switchboard upgrade first?
Sometimes. An EV charger is one of the largest continuous loads in a home, and older boards without safety switches or spare capacity can't take one legally. We assess this before quoting and include it in the fixed price if needed — never as a surprise extra.
Single phase or three phase?
Single phase (about 7kW) adds roughly 40km of range per hour, which covers overnight charging for most drivers comfortably. Three phase (up to 22kW) is around three times faster and worth it for high-kilometre drivers or homes that already have three-phase supply.
Can I just use a normal powerpoint?
You can trickle charge from a standard outlet, but it's slow (roughly 10–15km of range per hour) and running near-maximum load for hours on an ordinary circuit isn't ideal long term. A dedicated wall charger is faster, safer and adds value to the home.
How long does an install take in Langwarrin?
Most standard installs are done in half a day. If a switchboard upgrade is needed as well, allow a full day. We'll confirm timing when we quote so you can plan around it.
Are there rebates available?
Victorian rebates and incentives for chargers and electrification change regularly. Ask us what's current when you book and we'll factor anything you're eligible for into your quote.
Do you install at apartments and townhouses?
Yes, where the owners corporation approves and the supply allows. We handle metering, load management and the cable run to your allocated space. More involved than a house install, but very doable.
